Daily Schedule

Coming Soon!

Classroom Rules

Our Class Promise will be created at the beginning of the year. We will create some general rules together to help our classroom run smoothly, because it's important for students to be a part of the decision-making process, to be aware of our rules, and agree that they are fair. We will start our day off each morning with a fun chant led by a  student, and we'll say our class promise together to help us remember what is expected each day.  Our class money system is centered around these promises.

Homework

Homework is essential as it is an extension of what we do in the classroom each day. Students will write the daily assignment(s) in their agenda and will be responsible for obtaining a parent signature and returning the completed homework each Friday for the week.

Each night, students will have about 30-45 minutes of homework. This includes reading. They must also fill out their reading log and obtain a signature. Your signature states that they did, in fact, read for the amount of time written on the log. Students are asked to read Monday-Thursday night. In addition to reading, student will either have math  as an extension of the day's lesson, or a fun spelling activity to complete.

Volunteers

Parent volunteers are greatly appreciated. There are many ways you can help your child's clasroom.

One way is by joining the school's PTO Board. This could include anything from helping plan school activities, setting up events, or helping with fundraisers that benefit the school.

You could also choose to volunteer your time in the classroom. This may include setting up or planning any classroom celebrations, or helping with crafts throughout the year.

Classroom Management:

Money System

Students will have the opportunity to earn "McCollum Money" to spend on rewards throughout the year. Rewards are coupons to purchase that include things like:

Stinky Feet- No shoes in classroom

Swip Swop- Change seats for the day

Fluffy Friend- Bring in stuffed animal,

AND MANY MORE!!

Students will earn this money by completing their classroom job for the week, following Travel Rules, and completing homework on time. Extra money will be given out as students demonstrate character traits like kindness, cooperation, and respect, to name a few.
